And the LORD said to him: "I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before me; I have consecrated this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and my heart will be there perpetually." 1 Kings 9:3
April 5, 2009 was a beautiful and sunny day. It was just perfect for the occasion. As the visiting Clergy assembled themselves, there was a feeling of great anticipation by those who had gathered for the Dedication Service.
Sis. Tishina Cox gave a flawless, a cappella rendering of the national anthem. As a very talented young lady, then in her early teens, she has contributed generously to our Church and we are thankful for her.
After the blessing, and the cutting of the ribbon, we entered the Church. The visitors were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful Sanctuary that had been created. It is the manifestation of the vision held by Bishop Raymond Rose and Rev. Barbara Rose. Without that vision, the building might have remained an empty warehouse.
We are forever grateful to the True Life Musical Department for their wonderful offerings. Their singing and musicianship are truly professional and inspiring. To them we say “Thank you “
A sense of pride was felt by our New Life members. This was evident in our Choir members as they marched down the aisles to sing for us.
Those invited to pray, bring greetings and make presentations were: Bishop Andrew Binda (N.Y. State Overseer), Bishop Hixford Allen (District 24 Overseer and Pastor, True Life COG), Rev. M. Sterling (Pastor, Berea COG), Bishop Neil Clarke (Pastor, Dunamis COG), Bishop Steve Smith (State Dir. of Youth & Christian Education), Mr. Derek Sepaul (District Dir. Of Youth & Christian Education), Bishop Dr. Comas (Pastor, Queens Village COG), Pastor Roy Kirton (Pres., Ministerial Alliance of North Amityville), Bishop Rick Mullins (Pastor, Evangel COG), Bishop Dr. Aubrey Brown (Pastor, Showers of Blessing), Bishop, Dr. A.G. Quarrie (Pastor, Bronxwood International), Bishop J. Rhodes (Pastor, Rehoboth House of Praise) and Bishop Ransford C. Jones who came down from Canada for the occasion.
It is regrettable that Bishop Binda was unable to attend due to a previous engagement. In his place, Bishop Hixford Allen brought the Word and was an inspiration to us all.
Words of thanks are offered also to those who worked diligently behind the scenes to make this occasion a success.
In the Kitchen, Sis. Ann-Marie Winter, N’Cora Robinson, Audrey Rowe, Beverly Dixon, Lillian Hanchard-Blake and Bro. Melbourne Smikle worked tirelessly, making sure that everyone present had something to eat when the Service was over.
